Meena Ganesh, who essayed supporting roles in several Malayalam films, died earlier today (December 19) in Kerala at the age of 81. She suffered a stroke nearly five days ago and was undergoing treatment for the same. Reports suggest that she was hospitalised when her blood pressure shot up and her condition worsened. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm layter today.?
Meena Ganesh began her career with the PA Backer-helmed Manimuzhakkam, which hit the screens in 1976. It was, however, Mukha Chitram (1991) that helped her find a foothold in the industry. It was directed by Suresh Unnithan and featured Jayaram in the lead. She went on to essay key roles in films such as Karumadikuttan, Thalayanamanthram, Nandanam, and Vaasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum. Fans adored her for her versatility and ability to bring a variety of characters to life on the big screen with effortless ease.?
