Unnao Shocker! Bodies Of Two Minor Dalit Girls Found In Field, Another Critical In Hospital
Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, it seems like cannot stop making news headlines for all the wrong reasons.
On Wednesday, the bodies of two minor Dalit girls who had gone missing were recovered from a field, while a third girl who was found alive is battling for life in a hospital.
The three minor girls were found in a field in Babura village in the evening by the villagers when they did not return after they left their house to bring fodder for the cattle.
Third girl battles for life
The villagers informed the police and rushed the girls to a hospital, where two of them were declared brought dead while one was taken to the Unnao hospital for treatment.
Superintendent of Police Anand Kulkarni, who reached the spot, said that the two girls have died while the other one has been admitted to a hospital.
The police said they suspected it to be a case of poisoning, with no signs of struggle at the site and no injury marks found prima facie on the girls. The brother of the girls claimed they had been found with their hands and feet tied up.
The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem and an investigation is underway, police said.
Not the first such incident from Unnao
Unnao has been in the news regularly for some shocking crimes against women, the most high profile of them being the one involving now-expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar.
He was accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl in 2017.
In 2019,?he was found guilty and was sentenced to imprisonment for life. The Special CBI Court also imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on Sengar, out of which Rs 10 lakh will be given to the victim and the remaining Rs 15 lakh to be settled towards prosecution expenses.?
In 2019 another shocking crime was also reported from Unnao, where a rape complainant was burnt alive by a group of men including the rapist, who was out on bail.
