The girl, a resident of Shuklakhera village in Unnao was raped by an unidentified man while the village was busy with Holi celebrations on Tuesday.
The family was informed about the incident by some villagers who spotted the girl lying in a critical condition in the field.
She was first taken to the Patan community health centre and later shifted to LLR hospital in Kanpur, where she died on Wednesday during treatment.
"A minor girl died while receiving treatment at a hospital where she was admitted after being allegedly raped in Bihar police station limits on March 10. An FIR has been registered, an investigation is being done," said Jyoti Narayan, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Uttar Pradesh.
On Thursday, the family had initially refused to accept the body and demanded that the culprit should the hanged or shot dead like what happened in Telangana.

However, in the afternoon, after being assured by some senior government officers, including district magistrate Ravindra Singh and superintendent of police Vikrant Veer the family conducted her last rites.
Though the police have registered a case, they have not been able to identify the culprit yet.
"Prima facie, it seems a villager or known person has committed the crime. However, we are not clear yet," SN Sabat, ADG Lucknow Zone said.
The cops are pinning their hopes on a DNA test on skin and hair strands recovered from the victim¡¯s nails to identify the culprit.
Unnao has been in the news for all the wrong reasons for some time now.
First, it was the gang-rape case involving now expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Senger, who was accused of sexually abusing a girl who was a minor at the time in 2017.
Senger who was found guilty in the case has been sentenced to jail for the rest of his life.
He was also found guilty in the custodial death of the victim's father. Senger is also an accused in the murder attempt on the girl last year.
In December 2019 there was another similar case in Unnao, where a 23-year-old rape victim was burned alive by five men, including two who were accused of raping her. She was beaten with sticks and stabbed before they poured kerosene and set her on fire. According to eyewitnesses, who came to her rescue, the girl had run for nearly a kilometer screaming for help.
