The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the results of the Civil Services Exam 2023. A total of 1,016 candidates have been recommended for appointment based on their performance in the examination.
Among the candidates who secured the top 10 rankings, six are women. They are Donuru Ananya Reddy (AIR 3), Ruhani (AIR 5), Srishti Dabas (AIR 6) Anmol Rathore (AIR 7), Nausheen (AIR 9) and Aishwaryam Prajapati (AIR 10).?
Donuru Ananya Reddy, who hails from the backward Mahabubnagar district of Telangana used to study for 6-8 hours a day for the exams but increased the study hours to 12-14 a day when the tests were round the corner.?
Reddy said she would like to take the administration closer to people.
Ruhani from Gurugram bagged the fifth rank in the Civil Service exam. She graduated in BA (Hons) Economics from St StephenĄ¯s College and went on to pursue a Masters' degree in the same subject from IGNOU. She joined NITI Ayog as an IES officer in August 2020 and worked there till October 2023.?
Ruhani is currently undergoing training for the Indian Police Service.
Srishti Dabas from Delhi cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 with All India Rank 6. Srishti completed her schooling and graduated from Delhi and then started working with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.?
She started preparing for UPSC while completing her graduation.
Anmol Rathore from Udrana in Doda district of Jammu Division secured the seventh rank in the Civil Service exam.?Anmol who secured first rank in the Jammu and Kashmir civil services examination last year, said that her main aim has always been to crack the UPSC exams.
"Last year I qualified for the J&K Civil Services exam, in which I scored the 1st rank, and side by side I kept preparing for UPSC. This was my third attempt at UPSC," she said.
Nausheen, who secured the 9th rank got third time lucky after two previous attempts as she managed to realise her dream of becoming a civil servant.?Nausheen completed her schooling in Gorakhpur and pursued her graduation from the Delhi University.?
She has been preparing for the UPSC from Jamia's Residential Coaching Academy since 2021.?
Aishwaryam Prajapati from Maharajganj Uttar Pradesh secured the All India Rank of 10 in her second attempt. Aishwaryam studied till class 12th at Rani Lakshmibai Senior Secondary School. After this, she did her BTech from NIT Uttarakhand (2016-20 batch).
Ą°I always wanted to become an IAS officer. My goal was very clear once I passed Class 10. After completing Class 12 from Rani Laxmi Bai Senior Secondary School, I pursued B Tech from NIT, Uttarakhand, from 2016-20. Thereafter, I took up a job with L&T and worked for a good 18 months,Ąą she said.
