A viral video circulating on social media has sparked controversy after depicting two women engaging in a playful exchange of Holi colors inside a Delhi metro coach. The footage, shared on March 23, has garnered widespread reactions, with many expressing discomfort at the behavior captured.
In the clip, the said women are seen sitting closely on the floor, delicately applying colored powder to each other's faces, their gestures becoming increasingly intimate as they proceed.
"We need a law against this asap," expressed Madhur Singh, sharing the video online. The post has since garnered over 340K views and 4.4k likes, along with a flurry of comments.
"I am embarrassed just seeing this video! Imagine the people in the background," wrote one individual.
Another commented, "This is utter garbage! Plain & simple. It is a crass, crude & tasteless act in a public place for a moment of social media glory...also derogatory towards the festival of Holi."
?"This is beyond intolerable now, completely unbearable of this nonsense happening in our society," added a third commenter.
Several others echoed similar sentiments, calling for action against such behavior. One person suggested, "Banning Instagram can help us get rid of this cringe thing out of society. They are doing these things just for followers."
Others urged authorities to intervene, with one commenter stating, "@OfficialDMRC needs to identify and take action against them." Another tagged @DCP_DelhiMetro, saying, "This must be stopped...enough is enough @DCP_DelhiMetro, @DelhiPolice, please help take action."
Despite the outcry, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has yet to address this specific incident. However, previous statements from DMRC have condemned similar occurrences, stressing the importance of responsible behavior among commuters.
In its statement, DMRC emphasized, ¡°Commuters should not indulge in any indecent/obscene activity that may cause discomfort or could offend the sensibilities of other fellow commuters. DMRC¡¯s Operations and Maintenance Act lists indecency as a punishable offense under Section 59.¡±
