Chauhan's post gained widespread attention, amassing nearly eight lakh views and sparking a wave of responses from social media users.?
Many individuals highlighted that aspiring to become an IAS officer is often driven by the desire for the perceived "respect" associated with the position.?
One commenter illustrated this by stating, "Have you heard an IAS ever reporting to a CA Ever!? (Unless the CA is a senior govt employee or a minister)."
Another emphasised the prevailing notion that power holds greater value than monetary wealth.?
Additionally, a commenter shed light on the comprehensive income of an IAS officer, beyond the basic salary, noting that in addition to the basic pay, Dearness Allowance (DA) is provided, which adjusts for inflation and can increase up to 100% or more over time.?
Currently, it stands at 50%, meaning an additional 50% is received on top of the salary.?
Moreover, expenses are minimised as many services like drivers and helpers for official purposes are provided, which are often utilised for personal needs as well. Furthermore, many officers receive goods and services unofficially from vendors, which can be seen as a form of bribery.?
The man, who is an Ex-Indian Army adds, "No need to comment on upar ki kamai which is beyond our imagination, a patvari makes more in few deals what we make in lifetime."
