We can¡¯t deny the fact that we're all obsessed with littering. We toss cans out of the car while we drive, we leave food buckets under our seats in theatres, and we¡¯ve never walked a step further to put garbage in the bin. So let¡¯s admit that we are all responsible for the rubbish that fills the streets.
The festive fervour of Dasara got all of us dancing and celebrating, but some folks in Mysore just went a little overboard.
The young scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysore has taken to social media to fume over the garbage that was strewn all over the iconic Mysore Palace by visitors during the Dasara festivities.?
"The aftermath....?... We cannot take our cleanest city tag seriously when the very Icon of our city is treated in this manner." he wrote in his post.
Mysore was ranked the cleanest as per the Swachh Bharat rankings earlier this year.
The titular Maharaja of Mysore posted a picture on Instagram, sharing his thoughts over the mess. The picture showed the iconic palace¡¯s Public Durbar Hall strewn with paper plates, water bottles and food waste.
The image instigated a lot of debate as some claimed that the passage only hosted the VVIP guests.?
Such behaviour definitely tarnishes our image globally and it is high time we take responsibility for our actions.?
