A recent video has captured a heated altercation in Delhi between an Uber driver and his passengers, which led to the passengers being ejected from the vehicle late on Friday night, August 11. The incident quickly escalated after the driver took offense to a conversation he overheard between the passengers, leading to a viral social media uproar.
In the contentious video, the driver is visibly upset and shouts at the passengers, "Yes, you are Pakistani *******. Yes, and you are too." The situation worsened when the driver insulted the passengers with the phrase "Halala ki aulad ho tum log (You all are offsprings of Halala)."
The female passenger, who recorded the incident, lamented on social media, "This man has left us on the road at 12:30 in the night. This is Modiji's India." She also shared her thoughts on Instagram, stating, "But honestly who am I, IĄ¯m an upper caste, Hindu born, upper middle class woman and this is what I get. THIS IS WHAT I GET. Now imagine what happens to all others. And imagine, because you see it but you donĄ¯t believe. And this is just an Uber ride back home. And what A1 ride hats off Hindutva kya jeet raha hai boss. Thriving and how. I have a lot of guts. I have lost some."
According to the female passenger, the disagreement began after the driver misinterpreted a comment about Delhi people made by her male friend. The friend tried to clarify, explaining that his observation was general and unrelated to the driver or Pakistan. Despite his efforts to defuse the situation, the driver insisted they leave the vehicle.
The incident sparked varied reactions online, with many supporting the driver's actions. On the social media platform X, one user commented, "We need this Uber driver's number. HavenĄ¯t tipped people in a while, finally found someone deserving it."?
Another added, "A Pakistani with his Indian Girlfriend was disparaging India. The Uber driver threw them both out after the Indian girl chose to support the Pakistani than the nation. We need more Drivers with spine like this."
The discussion also extended to Reddit, where users expressed strong opinions. A user on r/IndiaSpeaks noted, "Mad respect for this taxi driver!!" Another remarked, "I'd have done the same. Appreciation for the Uber guy."

The argument between the driver and the passengers centered around the perception of people in Delhi. When the male passenger compared the attitudes of people in Delhi to those in Bombay, the driver declared his identity as a Hindu Brahman, emphasizing his Indian heritage. The woman retorted that criticizing Delhi, whether by a Pakistani or anyone else, should be acceptable if it reflects the truth.
