According to the woman's husband, she and a companion ordered an Uber from Whitefield to Bannerughatta Road at 9:30 p.m. and paid online. After they boarded the vehicle, the driver insisted on cash or UPI payment, which they were unable to achieve.
¡°She dropped her friend at her stop and reached our apartment gate and informed that payment was made through Uber Money and they couldn¡¯t change it to cash,¡± the woman¡¯s husband said.
The driver became enraged and grabbed her hand, eventually stealing her phone.
The husband informed further, ¡°Once she started moving towards the gate the auto driver just grabbed her hand and started arguing that money hadn¡¯t reached him and so on. She kept explaining the payment was done and she even showed the screenshot that the payment had been made. The auto driver got very angry and snatched her phone, she shouted and called the guards."?
The woman then shouted for assistance, and neighbours arrived, prompting the police to respond. Even in the presence of the police, the driver refused to hand over her phone immediately, only returning it after 30 minutes.
The woman and her husband then proceeded to the police station and filed a FIR against the driver, who subsequently spent the night there.?
