Adar Poonawalla¡¯s Serene Productions is all set to acquire a 50 per cent stake in Karan Johar¡¯s Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment for Rs 1,000 crore. The announcement also underlined that Karan Johar will continue to serve as the Executive Chairman and Apoorva Mehta will also remain the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in order to maintain consistency in operations.
In an official statement, Adar said, ¡°This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with one of India¡¯s most iconic production houses. Working with my friend Karan Johar, we aim to take Dharma to even greater heights.¡±
"My father founded Dharma to create films that leave a lasting impact. I've dedicated my career to building on that vision. Now, with Adar - an incredible friend and visionary - we are ready to take Dharma to the next level. This partnership blends our emotional storytelling with cutting-edge business strategies,¡± said Karan Johar.
As per Times Now, this upcoming partnership between Serene Productions and Dharma is being built to feed the growing demand for quality content across digital platforms both domestically and globally. ¡°With the Indian entertainment sector booming, driven by rising digital penetration and evolving audience preferences, the collaboration seeks to take advantage of new opportunities in content creation, distribution, and audience engagement,¡± the portal wrote.
