This date will be written down in history as Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace Prize- winning nun got declared as Saint Teresa of Calcutta by Pope Francis in the Vatican¡¯s St. Peter¡¯s Square. The woman who created a legacy by helping the needy and the poor, attained Sainthood amid hundreds of thousands of people.
Born in 1910 in what is now Skopje, Macedonia, Anjez? Gonxhe Bojaxhiu went on to become one of perhaps the most controversial figures in the church.
At the age of 19, she traveled to India, where she made her first vows as a nun and became known as Mother Teresa. An epiphany in 1946 led her to devote her life to helping the poor.
