Only five months ago, the stadium site was nothing more than a regular parkland. Situated just 25 miles east of New York City, the stadium has undergone rapid transformation, with drop-in pitches transported from Florida to complete the preparations.
Constructed with infrastructure reminiscent of the Las Vegas Formula 1 circuit and featuring drop-in pitches sourced from Florida, the stadium stands as a testament to the growing popularity of cricket in the United States. Among the fixtures slated for the venue, the India-Pakistan clash on June 9 promises to be a highlight, drawing global attention to the burgeoning cricketing scene in New York.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh echoed sentiments regarding pitch conditions, emphasizing the need for teams to adapt based on practice games. ¡°Pitches there [Nassau Cricket Stadium] are known to none to be honest. Even the pitch curators might not know how many times will this pitch last. How much heat would be there how much water has been put in? How much bounce would it offer?¡± Harbhajan said at a press conference organized by Star Sports on Wednesday.¡°Once those practice games are played there, then we will get to know how the pitch is acting. And then we can think about combinations. Prior knowing that, we can¡¯t say about team combinations,¡± he added.
