Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav claimed on Saturday, May 24, that his Facebook page had been hacked after a post from his account said he was in a relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. The post, which included a photo of the two, was later deleted.
The elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad responded to the incident on X, stating that the post was part of a deliberate attempt to target him and his family. ¡°My social media platform was hacked and my photographs were edited wrongfully,¡± Yadav wrote.
The Facebook post featured a picture of Yadav with a woman and carried a caption that read: ¡°The one seen in this picture is Anushka Yadav. We have been known to each other for the last 12 years. We are in love and have been in a relationship for 12 years.¡±
After gaining attention, especially on social media platforms, the post was removed. The image and accompanying text led to various reactions online, with users questioning the authenticity of the claim.
Social media users were quick to remind Yadav of his 2018 marriage to Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Rai. The marriage, which was widely covered in the media at the time, soon ran into trouble.
Within a few months of their wedding, Aishwarya left the household, accusing Yadav and his family of forcing her out. The dispute between the two families was also reported by several media outlets.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Tej Pratap Yadav has lodged a formal police complaint regarding the alleged hacking. However, he advised his supporters to remain cautious and not fall for rumours. ¡°Pay no heed to any rumours,¡± he wrote on X.
Yadav¡¯s statement comes amid renewed public and media attention, following the circulation of the controversial post.
