A Chinese student was recently tricked into visiting one such fake museum when he was in the city. The secondary school student, identified only as Xiaozeng, was hoping to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site after his college entrance exams on June 15. But when he was in the city, a local taxi driver took him to a site called ¡°Dreaming Back of Qin Dynasty.¡±
According to the South China Morning Post, the driver assured the student that it was the museum and promised him that visitors were allowed to take photos with the sculptures and even touch them. So he went inside and found the Terracotta Warriors in the underground palace, but something was amiss.

After leaving the museum, the student checked the social media page of the Terracotta Army and realized that he had been duped. What is even worse is that Xiaozeng ended up paying 98 yuan (Rs 1,100), which is higher than the 60 yuan (Rs 700) charged by the real museum.
It should be noted that this is not the first time such fake Terracotta Army museums have surfaced. In 2017, authorities destroyed a fake Terracotta Army museum, which was located close to the real one. It had some 40 statues that resembled the Terracotta Warriors and was destroyed after receiving complaints from tourists about being duped into visiting them.
