The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) has released a video showing a massive crack in the Larsen C ice shelf in Antarctica.?

The aerial video was shot by BAS researchers while flying over the ice shelf to fetch their equipment. The video now confirms previous satellite observations that predicted an iceberg - with a surface area of 5,000 square?kilometres?- to break off the shelf.?

While it remains unclear whether this is a result of climate change or not, researchers believe that there is "good scientific evidence" that global warming can be at play here.
Only when the iceberg goes its separate way from the shelf will the researchers be able to tell for sure if it's an offshoot of climate change and if the Larsen C ice shelf has become unstable.
