The video, shared with Latest Sightings, shows the leopard launching a brutal attack on the baboons, only to be met with fierce resistance.
Solomon and his guests were on an outing when they first spotted the leopard from a distance. They were unaware of the intense scenario about to unfold. Shortly after, a troop of baboons began making their way down a path, unaware that the leopard had set up an ambush.
The big cat hid behind a dam wall as the baboons continued on their path, oblivious to its presence. One by one, the baboons crossed the road, while the leopard waited patiently. In a calculated move, the leopard ¡°came rushing over the dam wall like a rocket¡± and pounced on one of the baboons.
Despite its desperate struggle, the baboon couldn¡¯t survive the attack. Seeking to avenge their fallen comrade, the troop decided to put up a fight. The leader of the troop chased the leopard, which was trying to enjoy its fresh kill.
?Other baboons quickly followed, surrounding the leopard and creating chaos. The leopard, realizing it had no chance of retaining its meal in such a situation, dropped its kill to defend itself. In a state of panic, the leopard found a gap in the baboons' defence and made a hasty retreat.
