Amidst a world often brimming with tragedy, occasional heartwarming stories emerge.?One such tale unfolds in the US, where a dog managed to get its head stuck in a box, enduring this predicament for nearly a year.?Fortunately, a dedicated team has successfully rescued the dog, granting it the freedom it had long been without.?
Bear, a Cane Corso breed, was seen roaming the Gulf Coast repeatedly with a box tightly stuck over his head for several months.?
Despite rescue attempts using traps, the box's size proved a challenge.?
Finally, the City of Mobile Animal Services and Mobile County Animal Shelter joined forced and successfully removed the box from Bear's head.?
On February 21, employing barricades to limit Bear's movements, the team, led by Miller thus successfully freed him, employing a humane trapping method with a standard box.?
But, Bear's story didn't end there. After the removal of the box, Bear, a stray dog, initially fled the scene but was later brought back to the city's shelter.?
In a happy turn of events, Bear has found a permanent home with Martin Miller, a member of the rescue team.?
Miller, an animal advocate collaborating closely with Mobile Animal Services Director Robert Bryant, has welcomed Bear into his home.?
Now, Bear serves as an animal services ambassador, spending his days engaging with the public at the city shelter and returning home with Miller each night.?
Reflecting on the decision, Bryant expressed to WKRG-TV, "Trying to find a good home for a dog that's garnered this much publicity is always a big deal. There's gonna be a ton of people that wanna take him home. And in this particular case, we got to thinking about it, and really, who better than one of the team members that spent so much time trying to get him off the streets in the first place?"?
From a stray dog to an animal services ambassador, a happy ending indeed.
