Imagine this -- you are at the airport and just before you are to board the flight, the airline staff tells you that they can't accommodate you because they are overbooked. What do you do in such a situation? You plead and even scream at the airline staff to accommodate you.
You can also take out your frustration by posting it on social media, telling how terrible the airline is. To leverage the post, you can also tag the CEO of the airline. But have you ever been able to complain to an airline CEO about not being able to get on a flight? A woman passenger at the Doha airport just did, though unaware of whom she was speaking with.

Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski, the co-founder and president of Freight Caviar, took to social media to share an incident involving his sister. Jaroslawski's sister was flying from Doha to Chicago on a standby ticket, which only allows a passenger to board the flight if seats are still available after all confirmed passengers have boarded.
"My little sister flies standby around the world for dirt cheap because our father worked at Eva Air Cargo for 20+ years," Jaroslawski said. Though there were seats available on flights to Chicago and Washington D.C., Jaroslawski's sister could not get on them due to weight management issues.
"At this point, she's getting really anxious, nervous, and worried. She hadn't slept all night because she was flying from Bangkok to Doha. She had no idea what to do, and so she stood sad under the departure screens wondering what flight she might be able to get on," Jaroslawski said.
While all this was happening, a man approached her and asked her why she was so sad. "My sister told him everything about the situation and he told her, 'go to the business lounge and everything will be okay,'" Jaroslawski said.
What she didn't realize was the person to whom she just spoke was none other than the CEO of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed Al Meer. And the brief conversation worked magic for Jaroslawski's sister, who soon got a business class ticket for the next flight to JFK International Airport in New York.

"An employee at Qatar gave my sister her ticket and told her she is very lucky because he rarely walks around the airport like that," Jaroslawski said.
