Italy is offering people Rs 27 lakhs to settle in the mountain towns of Tuscany
Are you one of those people who dream of settling abroad but can't afford it? Then here is a deal that is too good to be true for you. Not only do you not have to spend your life savings to start a new life, but the town will pay you to move there.
Residency in the Mountains??
Last month, the Italian region of Tuscany announced the ¡°Residenzialit¨¤ in Montagna 2024,¡± or ¡°Residency in the Mountains 2024,¡± which offers people a financial incentive to move to rural communities.
Rs 27 lakhs to settle in Tuscany?
Under the initiative, the Tuscany region will offer 10,000 euros (about Rs 9 lakhs) to 30,000 euros (about Rs 27 lakhs) to those willing to move to a Tuscan town with 5,000 residents or less.?

Those willing to move to Tuscany can choose from a total of 76 towns to settle and avail the benefits. This includes Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina, a small medieval village in the foothills of the Maremma, the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni, Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of Michelangelo, and Capraia Isola, located in the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago.
What is behind the offer?
This initiative aims to rejuvenate and stabilize the population in these areas, which have seen a significant decline over the years. "The purpose of the intervention is to favor and encourage the repopulation and socio-economic revitalization of mountain areas, acting in contrast to the marginalization of these areas," an official document said.

Who are eligible?
While the Italian government prefers its citizens or those from EU countries to move to these areas, others can also settle there if they have a long-term residency lasting no less than 10 years. They will need to commit to registering as residents in an Italian town and can¡¯t currently be residents in another mountain town.
