There is no dearth of absurd doings around the world.?
A 32-year-old Chinese man named?Xu Zhixian seems to be pushing the box even further and has decided to travel from Europe to Asia on horseback.?
Interestingly, the horse involved in this venture has a mischievous streak and is susceptible to eloping with any enticing companion that is successful in seducing it.?
Embarking on his expedition on February 20 from Lalin in Spain, Xu has traversed over 2,500 kilometers, reaching the Netherlands on horseback.?
The intriguing question arises: how did he conceive the idea of undertaking this journey on horseback in the first place??
According to Xu, the notion simply "popped up" in his mind without any apparent reason while he was on his travels. He explained that there was no specific rationale behind his decision; he pursued it simply because he wanted to.
Initially met with disbelief from his family, they only started to take him seriously when he purchased a horse and commenced his remarkable journey.?
Having ridden a horse only once before, Xu found himself in need of additional training in equestrian skills.?
He dedicated three months to learning how to ride, undergoing instruction from a horse seller before commencing his journey.?
Concluding his training, the horse seller recommended an eight-year-old purebred Arabian white male horse, named Huihui by Xu.?
With Huihui as his companion, Xu initiated his intercontinental journey, covering an average of 30 kilometers per day.?
To economise on accommodation expenses, Xu opted for a practical approach by acquiring a sleeping bag, inflatable mattress, and a tent for overnight stays. Xu asserts that he spent less than 600 euros (approximately Rs 54 lakh) per month, involving the costs associated with both his and Huihui's well-being.?
Xu takes that it takes him 10-12 hours to complete finish 30 kms a day, because Huihui frequently stops to eat along the way.?
Xu also encounters a peculiar challenge involving his horse, Huihui, potentially being seduced by other horses and attempting to 'elope.'?
According to Xu, Huihui makes daily attempts to run away with another horse.?
Despite Xu's efforts to control him with the reins, Huihui displays an eagerness to approach other horses, often hindering the journey.?
In one instance, Huihui, in pursuit of another horse, scattered Xu's belongings on the ground and accidentally damaged a laptop he was carrying.?
Planning to go to Germany and Austria next, Xu said he originally had intended to complete the journey in a year.? ??
