By this point, most observers and intelligence agencies around the world have agreed on one thing - Russian President Vladimir Putin had heavily underestimated the amount of resistance from Ukraine when he ordered the special military operation to invade the country.
Most of them have said that Putin expected to just go into Ukraine, bulldoze his way through the country, overthrow the government and get out - all within a few days.
But the war is into its third week and the Russian troops, despite making significant ground is nowhere close to capturing the country and toppling the Ukrainian government.
Putin reportedly gave the marching orders after FSB security service - which he used to run and is part of his most trusted inner-circle told him that Ukraine was weak, riddled with neo-Nazi groups, and would give up easily if attacked.
And in the meantime, the cost of the war, including the toll on the Russian troops is mounting.
This has reportedly left Putin furious and his top officials in the Military are paying the price.
Ukraine Defense Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has claimed that at least eight generals have been replaced by Putin.
¡°The enemy had about 8 generals removed from their posts because they did not complete the task. New ones have been appointed,¡± Danilov said.?
¡°We clearly understand what is happening in the Russian Federation,¡± he added. ¡°What¡¯s more, I can tell they¡¯re desperate.¡±
There were also some reports that FSB had gathered good intelligence from Ukraine before the war, but was too afraid to tell Putin the reality, so they told him what he wanted to hear.?
Recently there were also reports that Kremlin officials are now calling the invasion a complete ¡°clusterf**k and insiders believed the war on Ukraine has been a complete disaster.
This comes as the Russian troops are rapidly losing their men, tanks, and truck in Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian officials, at least 12,000 Russian troops have been killed in the 15 days of the invasion.
While this number cannot be independently verified other intelligence agencies including those in the US estimate the toll to be anywhere between 4000-9000, which is also too high.
Those killed in Ukraine include two top Russian generals Major Genera Vitaly Gerasimov and General Andrei Sukhovetsky.
The leader of Chechen special forces General Magomed Tushaev who was reportedly sent to Ukraine to kill?President Volodymyr Zelensky?was also obliterated along with his men and their convoy of 56 tanks.
