Plastic has been a primary cause of pollution which is destroying our planet. Since people are ignorant of the harmful effects, they dump it anywhere and then the chemicals cause harm.??
Most of the world agrees that plastic should be a thing of the past. That very idea is something a Scottish artist named Katrina Cobain believes in.?
She had an idea of a unique collection which can be shown in a museum. In an old tobacco pipe factory in Glasgow, she unveiled a collection of plastic bags, as per a report in AFP.?
But these are no ordinary bags. They are from the 20th and 21st centuries and can be called historical. The reason they are in a collection is because they are proof of who consumers behaved.?
The 24-year-old began this in 2018.?
"The original idea started because I felt that the landfill sites could be archaeological digs of the future and for our civilization, they would be filled with plastic," she said.?
Her collection ranges of bags from New York City to what was then the Soviet Union. One bag also had a picture of Prince Charles and the late Lady Diana. Others were from stores such as Primark, Sainsbury, etc. which were well known at one time in UK.?
This is pretty much a blast from the past for those in the future. Plastic is evil and the day we can only see it in museums is a day we look forward to. ??
