Amazon Alexa, the voice-based virtual assistant of the e-commerce giant, is arguably one of the most popular of its kind. Ever since it was introduced some ten years ago, Amazon Alexa, the cloud-based voice service, has made life easier for millions of users who can now get a wide range of tasks done just by talking to it.
An old video has gone viral showing a woman confusing Amazon Alexa with her voice. The woman, Susan Caplin, tells the device, "Alexa, play my favorite playlist."

To this, Alexa responds, saying, "You sound familiar. Who is this?"
Caplin then tells the virtual assistant, "I am Alexa."
This seems to have confused the Amazon virtual assistant, which responded by saying, "No, I am Alexa."
This is followed by the virtual assistant and Caplin saying, ¡°I said it first!¡±
It should be noted that Caplin is the voice behind Amazon Alexa.
In a 2019 interview, from which her conversation with Alexa has now gone viral on social media, Caplin said it has become very common for her to be stopped by strangers at supermarkets and other public places when they hear her speak.

According to her, when she is asked if she is Alexa, sometimes she says yes and sometimes no, depending on how she is feeling that day.
Caplin, who enjoys gardening and walking her dog, further said that there is nothing really exciting in her life other than having a famous voice.
