Rahul Dravid is rarely caught off guard because he seems to have a response for everything. Be it the opposition, teammates, journalists or even the crowd.
During the 2008 Sydney Test between India and Australia, Dravid provided a light moment in a match which was marred with controversy due to umpiring howlers and the infamous Monkeygate scandal.

Coming into bat at No. 3, The Wall was taking longer than usual to get off the mark. The crowd was getting agitated and kept on reminding him that he was still on zero. This went on ?for 39 deliveries.
Then off the 40th ball, he took a run! Yes it was a single and finally Dravid was on his way. The spectators stood up and applauded but the legend had a response for them too.
What did he do? He raised his bat in appreciation! That's right, Mr. Dependable had the perfect reply to the people taunting him from the stands.
That's Dravid for you, he always has a sense of occasion. After all the man taken on the best on the field, surely he would not be intimidated by those watching the game.
The reaction was priceless and it showed that cricketers too can have a sense of humour even in the middle of a tense battle on the field.
