So now it is official. South Africa have given the deadline of June 1 for AB de Villiers to make his international return. So if he does come back, we shall know by then. He needs to make himself available if he is to be considered for the World T20.?
"The big one is the IPL so we decided to let those guys - the free agents if you want to call them that - do the IPL and then afterwards make himself available," said coach Mark Boucher as quoted by cricket.com.au as per a report in ANI.?
"We've still got quite a few games before the World Cup," he added.?
De Villiers had expressed his desire to come back in 2019. He did not play in the World Cup. Back in 2018, he shocked the world when he announced his retirement out of the blue.?
He is called cricket's Superman and with good reason. The man has a bunch of records to his name. The fastest 50, 100 and 150 in ODIs belong to him. His range and style of shots cover such a wide range that you can never set a field for him and just assume things will go according to plan. He is that cricketer who is even cheered by opposing fans.?
Should he come back, fans will have something to look forward to. The World T20 shall certainly get some added spice. ?
