The year 2024 is coming to an end, and with that, the BWF World Tour season will also wrap up with the final tournament set to take place in Hangzhou, China. The top 40 players and pairs will compete at the World Tour Finals from December 11¨C15, showcasing the best badminton talent of the season.?
The tournament will feature the top seven performers of the season and the Olympic champion in each of the five categories: men's and women's singles, and men's, women's, and mixed doubles.However, the event will also see several players, including men's defending World Tour Finals champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Viktor Axelsen, withdraw due to injury or personal reasons.?
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be the sole Indian representatives at the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals, having earned a spot in the women's doubles event.?
The pair's best performances this year came at the Singapore and Macau Opens, where they reached the semifinals but fell short of making it to the final.In the China Masters, the pair were defeated by the World Number 1 duo of Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning, 16-21, 11-21 in the pre-quarterfinals.
