It was a good day for India as skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara came to the party with centuries on Day 1 of the 2nd Test against England in Vizag.

The pair came together when India were reeling at 22/2 after Stuart Broad and James Anderson had removed Lokesh Rahul and Murali Vijay respectively.
This was Pujara's 10th ton while Kohli hit his 14th hundred.

Both of them had a calm approach to the crease and slowly accumulated runs. The run-rate went up steadily. Pujara was more sedate while Kohli was the dominant partner in the alliance.

Pujara was the first to reach his hundred in 184 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Kohli soon joined him past three figures, reaching the milestone in 154 deliveries and it contained 12 fours.
This certainly gives India the base for a big total.
Pujara fell for 119 with the score on 248. The duo put on 226 for the 3rd wicket.?Kohli ended the day unbeaten on 151 as India went stumps at 317/4.
