Earlier, as England came to bat, they got off to a flying start with Davina Perrin helping them reach 37/0 in the powerplay. However, once they lost their first wicket, it seemed like they didn't know how to recover. They lost the plot after the 10th over mark, going from 81/3 to 113/8, and from targeting a score near 150 to setteling for 113.?
Parunika Sisodia was the standout bowler who changed the tide in India's favor, picking up two wickets in her first over. Her inspiring spell helped India restrict England to 113/8. She was assisted by Aayushi Shukla, who sparked an England batting collapse.?
Perrin hit 45 off 40 balls before Shukla cleaned her up in the 12th over. Captain Abi Norgrove also contributed with 30 off 25 balls, helping take England to the triple figure mark. For India, Sisodia and Vaishnavi Sharma claimed three wickets each, while Shukla bagged a couple.?
As for the chase, there was no stopping the Women in Blue as they went all guns blazing. They lost just Gongadi Trisha for 35 off 29, but the damage had already been done as the opening pair added 60 runs. Sanika Chalke came in and scored 11 off 12, but it was all about G Kamalini's match-winning knock.?
