Rahul Dravid. The name needs no introduction if you are a cricket fan, Indian or otherwise. The Wall, Mr Dependable, call him what you will, this man was the bedrock of India's batting line-up in the late 90s and first decade of the 21st century. Despite playing in the shadow of the great Sachin Tendulkar for his entire career, Dravid was able to carve out his own legacy in the game's history.
For sheer grit and value, many rate him above the Master Blaster, at least in the longest format of the game. Even almost 8 years after his retirement we are yet to get someone who comes close to what he could do. Need a person to see you through troubled waters, here's Dravid. Need someone to keep so that an extra batsman can be included? Well, the answer is Dravid.?
So it comes as no surprise that on his 47th birthday, wishes are pouring in all from all corners. He is a legend and legends are forever whether they are still playing or not. Here is what fans had to sat about the all-time great:?
?Dravid has played some brilliant knocks for India both at home and in the opposition's den. He's battled hostile wickets and deadly attacks and more often than not stood tall. The Wall protected Team India for over a decade and that is what makes him a special player. Humble, always happy to be on the sidelines, he is now grooming the next generation and doing his bit for Indian cricket from beyond the boundary. ?
