The two-time champion team, co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, have seen their popularity grow by leaps and bounds over the years. And this year, KKR saw a 300 per cent jump in their twitter following, almost 100 per cent higher than Jose Mourinho's Red Devils, who have their twitter growth at 204 per cent.?
According to the BCCI, the IPL brand is worth $4.5 billion (about Rs 27,000 crore). In its annual report for 2015-16, the board has said this figure was given by valuation appraisal firm Duff & Phelps last year.

"According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India, the total TV viewership of IPL 2016 calculated by impressions stood at 102 crore. A report by management consultancy firm KPMG puts the total impact of IPL 2015 on the Indian economy at Rs 1,150 crore, more than 0.6% of the country's GDP," states the report.
BCCI recently floated an open tender for global media rights (TV and digital) for the league for 10 years, with the digital rights being available for half that period. Leading sports broadcasters like Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI) and Star Sports are in the fray for the IPL media rights, while ecommerce giant Amazon has also picked up the tender document.
"IPL has been the fastest-growing league in the world, and has changed the landscape of domestic sport in the country. Numbers prove that the IPL has set a benchmark and at the BCCI, we're extremely proud of this," BCCI president Anurag Thakur said on Thursday.
