As kids we all grew up watching WWE, or WWF as it was back then. By the time we neared the end of our teens, it was a known fact that it was all fake. Yes the risks were real, but the fights and storylines were pretty much as real as Santa Claus.?
But forget all that, we are not here to debate the legitimacy of WWE, it's the fact that we fall for it all the time.
WWE
Now take for example the recent skirmish between Jinder Mahal and Roman Reigns. Their altercation is already adding fuel to the fire that these two might face off in the coming week. Needless to say fans are going crazy over it. In fact look at some of these Tweets and you will realise the craze and the hype:
But guys, let's just calm down for a moment. You are all old enough and smart enough to know this is just a script. There is no real rivalry, no real exchange of blows or a vendetta on the part of either of the wrestlers. So why are we losing our sh** so to speak??
No it's not because we are living in denial, it's just that years of habit have made us go with the flow. Yes, we know it's fake, but let's just see how it pans out. It's a lot like watching a movie, we know the good guys win, none of it is real and yet we live through it like it is really happening. Same goes for WWE and this frenzy is just like that of a popular film or TV series.
So regardless of whether Jinder and Roman fight, whoever wins or loses, the enthusiasm for this fake euphoria is not going to go down. We can tell people to calm down, buy it would be foolish to think that they actually will.
