India created quite a few chances but couldn¡¯t find a way through the resilient Bangladesh defence. India also had a penalty shout, which was turned down by the referee, after a cross appeared to have hit a Bangladesh hand.
As no breakthrough was found in the regulation time, it went down to the penalty shoot-out. Goalkeeper Adrija Sarkhel stepped up in the dreaded penalties to save Bangladesh's first spot-kick. Indian captain Shilky Devi slotted home from the final spot kick to hand her side 5-3 win.
