India continued their terrific run at the Women's T20 World Cup with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka.?
Even before coming into this game India had qualified for the semi-final and they've put up yet another sensational performance in their last league match. After restricting Sri Lanka to 113, India made light work of the target as they got home with seven wickets and 32 balls to spare.
India managed to restrict Sri Lanka to a pedestrian total and then it was Shafali Verma's aggressive knock that laid the foundation during the run chase. Shafali smashed a 34-ball 47 before she got run-out in the 11th over.
The damage had been done by then and the Indian middle order pair - Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma - took India over the line in the 15th over. While batting has been India's worry, they did be happy with how batsmen got about their job here.
Earlier, it was Radha Yadav who made the difference with the ball for India, claiming four wickets and going for only 23 in her allotted quota of four overs.?
A really one-sided contest to be fair, but Women in Blue know that the real challenge starts now with a crucial semifinal coming up. The team is chasing an elusive World Cup trophy and have so far shown great character and application.?
If they keep going on the same path, there won't be any stopping.?
