World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has announced that one of their female wrestlers, Rhea Ripley, has suffered a serious injury and will be out of action for an undisclosed period. Ripley sustained the injury during the October 29 episode of NXT, when she was attacked in the parking lot by Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and her enforcer Raquel Rodriguez.
In the video aired by WWE, Ripley was seen bloodied in the parking lot, lying beside her partially shut car. The video also showed Morgan, who was holding a bat, and Rodriguez leaving the parking lot.
"Following last night's brutal attack at the hands of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the NXT parking lot, Rhea Ripley has suffered a fractured right orbital socket and will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time," WWE said in a statement.
According to Pro Wrestling Insider, Ripley also suffered an injury behind the ankle but added that there are no confirmed specifics.
On Thursday, Ripley broke her silence on the injury and indicated that the feud is not over yet.
"Mistake no.1 You left me breathing," she wrote on X.
The Australian has been embroiled in a long feud with Morgan over the WWE Women's World Championship for some time now.
Earlier this year, Ripley suffered a shoulder injury during a fight with Morgan, due to which she was forced to vacate the WWE Women¡¯s World Championship and missed three months of action.
