Apple has launched two new iPhones at its launch event in Cupertino, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. However, the company had a special third device to launch, the rumoured third 2018 iPhone. So here¡¯s everything we know about it.
Though we¡¯ve heard a bunch of details about it in leaks, Apple kept the third iPhone reveal as its ¡°one more thing¡± moment. Say hello to the new iPhone XR. (remember is ¡°ten arr¡± not ¡°ex arr¡±).
This is a pretty cool device to say the least, maybe even more interesting than the XS lineup. It packs a 6.1-inch 828x1792 ¡°Liquid Retina¡± display at 326 ppi into a fairly small body. Specifically, it¡¯s got a larger display than the iPhone 8 Plus but in a smaller form factor.?
The A12 Bionic chip is also here, as is the same TrueDepth front camera as on the XS and XS Max. The rear camera however is a single cam system, with only the 12MP wide-angle lens as on the XS line. It still manages to do a portrait mode, which Apple¡¯s Phil Schiller calls ¡°remarkable¡±. Except, you know, that¡¯s what the Google Pixel and Pixel 2 are all about.
In fact, Apple calls it an "iPhone X experience on an LCD display,¡± which should tell you the target audience it¡¯s aimed at.?
The iPhone XR will come in six finishes, white, black, blue, coral, yellow, and red, and in three sizes, 64GB/128GB/256GB. It¡¯s priced starting at $749 (approximately Rs 54,000) and will be available for preorder on October 19. Shipping begins October 26, after the iPhone XS and XS Max have been out for a month.
