Google has rolled out generative artificial intelligence (AI) to the Google app on Android. The generative AI search feature is being rolled out as part of the latest Search Generative Experience (SGE) wherein Google is playing with generative AI features for its apps and services.
As was evident at the launch of the new Pixel 8 series, Google is focusing all its energy on AI capabilities. One of these features is the ability to use generative AI for searching across Google.
Essentially, the generative AI capability on the Google app shows AI-generated results within search. Just like ChatGPT or Google's own Bard, the generative AI capability within the Google app responds to user queries with succinct answers, as you can see in the example below.
This means that users can get information a lot faster without having to browse multiple sources and websites.
