How To Use Guest Mode On Your Android Phone To Keep Your Secrets Safe

If you live in a household wherein people are always asking to use your phone or if you simply want to keep your phone's contents hidden from your friends or close contacts, there's a trick that might be useful to you.

Why do you need a guest mode?

Google has a profile system on Android phones that is especially useful in case you're letting someone use your phone briefly. "A guest profile is for someone using your device for a short time," Google explains. "Like a user, the guest profile has its own space on the device, but it's easier to delete this space when a guest is done with the device."

While a guest profile hides your files and private data from other users, it still accesses the same Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices as the main profile.?If you intend to let someone else use your Android phone for a while, it might be a good idea to turn on the guest profile. All your files, messages, texts, emails, pictures, and music would be protected from other users.

Users can also add and delete guests anytime. However, setting up a guest profile might be different on each manufacturer's Android phone, so you might have to tweak the steps a bit.

How to Enable Guest Mode on Android

• Open the Settings app on your Android device. Scroll down and tap on Users & Accounts, or a similar function.
• If you want to skip steps, typing "multiple users" or "guest mode" in the search box on top might be useful.
• Once you find the "multiple users" option, toggle it on. Each user will have a separate profile on your phone if you enable this option.
• When the option is turned on, users will have the chance to "add user."
• When you tap on the newly created profile, you can click on it and switch easily.

Switching back is also quite simple - you need to follow the same steps above and choose the administrator profile.?You can allow the guest to make calls and send texts by tapping on the Allow calls and SMS option in the guest settings before switching.
