The worldwide study into selfie-related deaths further said that the average age of victims is 23 years, and over 72% of all selfie-related death victims are male.
The research states that the actual number of selfie deaths in the world is more than what they found, especially in developing countries where most deaths of this kind go unreported.
Noting that selfie-related deaths have been steadily increasing over the years, the researchers have also called upon authorities around the world to make dangerous places or hazardous tourist spots as "selfie free zones" through signposts and other informational material.
