We know Amitabh Bachchan as a legendary actor -- a crowned jewel of the Indian film industry that has made us laugh and cry in several movies in his career.?
And if reports are true, Amitabh Bachchan's voice will soon power navigation for Google Maps in India.
And while there has been no official announcement in this matter, it doesn't sound surprising. Even at the age of 77, Amitabh Bachchan has managed to give out super hit movies that fans across generations love to watch.
And most of Amitabh Bachchan's appeal boils down to his rich baritone voice. He¡¯s narrated several movies in the past and has spoken on talk shows with a voice that truly emotes the message being delivered.?
However what if I told you that his beautiful voice could soon be heard on turn-by-turn navigation on Google Maps to a destination?
Yes, it sounds unreal but it may actually be true. A recent report by Mid Day has revealed that the search engine giant, or in this case the navigation app Google Maps has approached Amitabh Bachchan to bring his voice to the app¡¯s turn-by-turn navigation.
As of now, the voice we hear on Google Maps is of a New York-based entertainer Karen Jacobsen, but as you would have guessed, it doesn¡¯t sound as accurate and at times Indian names of places get totally goofed up.
The sources (who do not wish to be named) said in a statement to Mid Day, "Amitabh Bachchan has the most influential and recognisable baritone. Hence, he is the best choice for the voice of Google Maps. He has been approached, but the contract has not been signed yet. It's up to Bachchan now.¡±
The sources have also revealed that looking at the current social distancing norms, if he chooses to proceed further with this, he will be conducting the recordings from his home.?
The source has also revealed the fact that Big B is being offered a considerable amount for lending his voice to Google Maps.
