It is an annual practice for Apple to hold a launch event in March and unveil a bunch of new products for the year. While it has skipped the event on some years, 2020 does not seem to be on that list. Rumours around the event this year are already ripe and a whole list of expectations from the event is floating on the internet.
The most hyped among the expected arrivals is the next version of the budget iPhone - the iPhone SE 2. Also termed as the iPhone 9, as Apple skipped the terminology after 8 and proceeded to reveal the X, the iPhone SE 2 has a highly anticipated arrival at the March event.
Rumours on the internet suggest that the iPhone SE 2 will be based on the iPhone 8 in terms of design. It will, however, come with upgraded internals like the touch ID fingerprint sensor as well as a 4.7-inch IPS LCD Retina display. The phone is expected to be powered by Apple¡¯s own A13 Bionic processor.
The smartphone¡¯s arrival was also confirmed in a recent tweet by Evan Blass. As per him, the new budget iPhone would be arriving sometime after mid-March and might be named the iPhone 9. No official confirmation for the device is available as of now.
In addition to the iPhone SE 2 (or the iPhone 9), Apple has been hinted at to come up with a refreshed iPad Pro model as well as a wireless charging mat, courtesy - analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. For now, the anticipated date for the launch is March 31, followed by the availability of the iPhone SE 2 starting April 3 as per some reports online.
Earlier, reports about a possible delay in the launch cycles as well as availability of iPhones were doing the rounds, citing the Coronavirus outbreak in China. It is true that just like other smartphone manufacturers, Apple is reeling with a shortage in supply chain due to the factory shutdowns in China. That, however, will not be having any impact on the launch cycles of Apple products. Read all about it here.
