Step Into The Future: Apple Unveils Apple Vision Pro Mixed Reality Headset
It's the beginning of a new era at Apple. On Monday, the tech giant launched the Apple Vision Pro, the company's first mixed reality headset that comes with a host of features. Capable of supporting both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), the headset was launched ?at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Apple's latest addition to its family of devices has an aluminum frame and a glass display, along with a fabric-lined mask and strap that are attached to the face of the user. To keep it powered up, the device comes with a battery back that may be connected to the device through a cable on the left side of the device.
According to Apple, the device may be simply controlled by using our eyes. By looking at various elements on the display, a user should be able to control the device. In addition, users can also use finger controls and voice commands to control objects and to enter text.
Through a feature called EyeSight, Apple Vision Pro will allow users to see what's happening in their surroundings. This works by taking advantage of the camera sensors around the device. Users can see who's in front of them and others can also see when a user is engrossed in a task or available to talk.
With a cost of $3,499 (about Rs. 2,88,700), the mixed reality headset will be available to buy early next year on Apple's website. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on when the device would be available to buy in other markets including India.
Features of Apple Vision Pro
The mixed reality headsets come with dual Micro OLED display that have 23 million pixels on both panels. Through a 3D lens, users can see AR content across their field of view. Apple Vision Pro is also loaded with a full sensor array that has the main cameras, downward cameras for hand tracking, IR illuminators, and side cameras, along with a LiDAR scanner and TrueDepth cameras.?

Apple also claims that the headset comes with two individually amplified drivers that are capable of delivering spatial audio. The Apple Vision Pro is powered by Apple's M2 chip along with a brand new chip called R1 that supports 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones. The company also claimed that Zeiss optical inserts will be made available for users who wear glasses.
Users will be authenticated on their headsets through what Apple is calling the Optic ID that scans a user's iris. In addition, Apple claims that it'll create a "Persona" of every user to help them take FaceTime calls while wearing the headset.
