Microsoft CEO Bill Gates is already known for his many charitable efforts, aside from his tech innovations. As it turns out, he's also a pretty freaking great Secret Santa.
The tech icon delivered another batch of legendary gifts this past week, as showcased on Reddit.

Gates has been part of the Reddit Gifts system since he signed up like any other regular user way back in 2013. They host an annual Secret Santa campaign, matching users that have signed. Once paired, you're obligated to send a thoughtful gift to your receiver, who might be anywhere in the world, and you'll get one from your own secret santa too.
Even celebrities that take part are randomly matched with users for the Reddit secret santa, and this year Gates was matched with a 49-year-old woman that works in IT in Virginia. And to read her later Reddit post, it was the best thing she could ever have asked for this year.

"I know you love making cards, so I've included lots of them in your gift: greeting cards, postcards, even playing cards!," Gates wrote in a personal letter to Reddit user moondazed. "I may have tucked one card into a hiding place too. And look around for a special greeting from one of your favorite authors." What he was referring to was Hank Green, a popular author and YouTuber, who had included a signed copy of his latest book for moondazed, along with a special video greeting just for her.

The most important thing though is how much though Gates put into the gift. Using clues from her Reddit posts, he deciphered that she loves animals, so he sent a donation in her name to her favourite local animal shelter. She also lives on a farm with, alongside multiple dogs and cats, a miniature horse, so Gates sent a custom-made blanket for the equine critter.

That wasn't the end of it though. Gates also sent other gifts pertaining to moondazed's interests indicated on Reddit, including:
A hand-written haiku
A deck of cards showcasing Gates' personal book recommendations
Five of those recommended books
10 sheets of stamps for Reddit's 'Random acts of card' (including a heat-activated solar eclipse stamp)
A whole set of knitting supplies - u/moondazed
A yarn swift, yarn, and a holder
Card decoration materials
Christmas treats from Washington DC
and so much more.
"It took me a LONG time to open everything in my box!" moondazed said in her thank you post. "It was incredibly exciting, I may have cried a couple of times, and I'm still awed and amazed at the things I received. Thank you so much, Mr. Gates, you made my Christmas especially merry!!!
And what about Gates himself? Well, the man who has everything posted on Reddit asking his secret santa to donate to a charity of their choice in his name. So they donated to the International Rescue Committee.
Isn't the spirit of giving so heartwarming?
