Are you thinking of investing your money in the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model that is slated to launch in September? A leaker recently suggested that users who are keen to buy the upcoming pro iteration of the iPhone should think twice.
Apple is replacing the Mute Switch with an Action Button that can do multiple tasks. If this is the guiding factor for you to buy the upcoming iPhone, perhaps you might want to rethink. In terms of design, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model is expected to look like its predecessor, with certain changes in the build, including a new titanium finish.
The Action Button is the big new addition that will add more functionality and replace the Mute Switch. According to a leaker @URedditor (Unknownz21), you shouldn't spend money on the iPhone 15 Pro just for the Action Button. The functions that are expected to become available via the Action Button are already present on the iPhone. The new button will essentially make access to these functions easier.

In essence, the upcoming Action Button isn't expected to bring in any features, but will instead make it easier for users to access already existing features. It will still serve as the primary way to switch between Silent and Ringer modes for iPhone users.
According to iOS 17 code, the Action Button may be used for various functionalities, including Shortcuts, Silent Mode, Camera, Focus, Magnifier, Translate, Voice Memos, Flashlight, and Accessibility, as reported by WCCFTech.
