For PC gamers, there's often a tough choice to make between buying an upgradeable desktop and picking up a portable gaming laptop. Alienware doesn't think you should have to make that choice;, so they've come up with a new laptop that can do both.

Check out the new Alienware Area 51m. It's a new 17-inch flagship gaming system from the company, and ?it's so much more than that simple description. In fact, it's more like a tiny desktop than a laptop
The main thing about this laptop is that, like many others, you can swap out the RAM and storage drives later on in order to upgrade. The kicker though is unique, which lets you also swap out the systems CPU and GPU, just like with a desktop gaming rig.

The CPU is a standard desktop chip, configurable up to an i9 9900K, that can be swapped out with a chip that fits the slot. The GPU instead uses a custom form factor that's a smaller version of a desktop card, configurable up to the all new RTX 2080.
The device also supports between 8GB to 64GB DDR4 RAM, storage options from a single 256GB SSD to 2TB of SSD storage and a 1TB hybrid drive. The laptop has a narrow-bezel 17.3-inch 1080p display in 60/144Hz, and supports Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), 3x USB-A, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, 2.5Gbps Ethernet, and of course Alienware's custom Graphics Amplifier port.
And it also helps that the Area 51m has an incredibly sleek look, with the Alien aesthetic we know and love. It comes in two gray variants called 'Lunar Light' and 'Dark side of the Moon.'
Of course, you can expect the device to be as expensive as it sounds. Purchasing the Alienware Area 51m will set you back a cool $2,549 (approximately Rs 1.8 lakh) when it launches on January 29. That's just the starting configuration price, and there's no telling how much more expensive it'll be here in India.
Still, if you've got the dough for it, it at least won't be obsolete for at least a year or two.
