We all know that Elon Musk is apprehensive about unchecked, regulation-less AI development -- he thinks it could lead to humanity's destruction.
Now, the visionary tech entrepreneur is reinforcing his stance on the disastrous side-effects of AI research and development that will seemingly dominate our immediate future.
In a tweeted message, Elon Musk pointed ominously at Vladimir Putin's message on AI, hinting at Putin's proclamation is the beginning of national-level AI superiority campaign. And the road doesn't end too well, according to Musk.
Musk alleges that Putin's AI vision is just the beginning. Ultimately, countries that are naturally strong with respect to computer science (he mentioned China and Russia by name), and their competition to gain an upper hand on AI development and deployment around the world, will lead to World War III.
That's not all, as Musk further clarified that he isn't worried about just a prominent world leader starting World War III, but also the possibility of an advanced, automated AI deciding ¡°that a strike is most probable path to victory." This means AI could strike in order to avert war, thereby starting the war instead.
All this means World War III is inevitable? Yikes!
