Microsoft Teams is adding five new features to support frontline workers in the healthcare sector. The new features include a walkie talkie-like functionality, virtual appointment management, Microsoft Viva, Reflexis Shifts Connector, and audio notifications for lost devices.
For the Walkie Talkie functionality, Microsoft partnered with Zebra. The new features were announced by Microsoft in a blog post.?The Walkie Talkie app would be available on all Zebra devices. It would also be a part of Microsoft Teams app on Android and iOS. The push-to-talk button on Zebra mobile devices uses Microsoft Teams' Walkie Talkie capabilities to provide quick communication channels to frontline workers.
The ability to manage appointments virtually will allow workers to "manage and request approvals in their business with Power Apps component framework (PCF) controls", also offering frontline workers a comprehensive look at waiting times, missed appointments, and delays due to staffing.

The Microsoft Viva app would allow employees to discover, track, and share learning content on Microsoft Teams. It was announced in partnership with EdCast and OpenSesame - offering workers the chance to learn new skills and access fresh content.
The fourth feature, called Reflexis Shift Connector offers integration with Reflexis Workforce Scheduler (RWS) to create a "seamless, real-time sync for viewing, assigning, and managing shift requests."
?The fifth new feature by Microsoft Teams aimed at healthcare workers is the ability to locate misplaced devices using an audio notification. In addition, now frontline workers would be able to sign out of all apps to prepare the device for the next user.

A recent survey by Microsoft called Work Trend Index found that 88% of frontline workers were "excited about job opportunities that technology creates."??
