Microsoft's latest update to the Phone Link app lets users link their iPhone with a Windows 11 PC. In an announcement, Microsoft said that the functionality should roll out to all Windows 11 users globally by mid-May.
Using Phone Link app for Windows and the Link to Windows app for iOS, iPhone users can make and receive calls straight from their PC, send and receive text messages, and even see their notifications.
In essence, Windows 11 now supports iMessage... but with limited functionality including lack of support for group chats, pictures, videos, and conversation history beyond the ongoing chat session.

Within the Phone Link app, all messages appear as grey bubbles, implying that the app cannot differentiate between iMessages and SMS texts on a PC. Users can see their messages on a PC if their Bluetooth is connected.
According to Microsoft, for the function to work, the iPhone must be running iOS 14 or later. This feature is not available for the iPad or Mac. Since February, this feature was being tested in beta.

If you wish to link your iPhone to your Windows 11 PC, simply update the Phone Link app, then click on "iPhone" in the "select your phone" option. Once you scan the barcode, your device will be paired with your PC, and you can individually choose the services for which you want notifications on your PC.
For users who already have a linked Android device on Windows 11, the same would need to be removed before an iPhone may be connected and synced.
