The Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology has announced that it has gone ahead and banned the battle royale game PUBG from being downloaded in India, along with 118 more Chinese apps.?
The Indian government states that PUBG gaming app and?these Chinese apps "engaged in activities prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order". Along with PUBG, apps like Apus Launcher, Baidu, WeChat Work, WeChat Reading and several other apps have been banned from the Indian versions of app stores -- both on iOS and Android.
This is truly a sad day for PUBG Mobile players who have managed to level-up and step up in their game, while some have also begun their own streaming channel, entertaining the crowd with their PUBG gameplay.
With such big news of India banning PUBG Mobile app, it was obviously expected that Twitter reactions would go into overdrive regarding the popular Chinese gaming app's tragedy and they did so rather hilariously.
Just yesterday, PUBG Mobile had announced that it had banned over 20 lakh players for cheating in the game after Tencent found that the players were using Speed Cheats, Auto-Aim Cheats, X-Ray Vision as well as character modification cheats to win their ¡®Chicken Dinners¡¯.?
PUBG Mobile in India has witnessed over 50 million downloads along with 33 million active users. The ban also came at a time when PUBG Mobile was gearing to bring in some new features and elements into the game on September 8 on both Android and iOS.?
The update would have brought the Erangel 2.0 classic map along with a major overhaul the overall graphics of the classic map as well as design and aesthetic changes. The update also would have brought an Ultra-HD graphics mode.?
