PUBG Ban: Indian Govt Banned PUBG Along With 118 Other Chinese Apps
The Indian government has gone ahead and banned the beloved PUBG battle royale game
Ever since the Indian government went ahead and took down Chinese apps, including the beloved TikTok among several others like CamScanner, ShareIt, UCBrowser, people who love playing PUBG were fearing that they would be next in like and sadly, that dreadful day has arrived.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology has gone ahead and banned the beloved battle royale game PUBG from being downloaded in India, along with 118 more Chinese apps. They say these apps "engaged in activities prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order".
In July, ET in conversation with officials had revealed that the app was currently under scrutiny amongst 275 other Chinese apps for any violation of national security or user privacy.
Just yesterday, PUBG had announced that it has banned over 20 lakh players for cheating in the game. The crackdown took place within a week, from August 20 to 27 wherein just one week, a total of 2,273,152 accounts and 1,424,854 devices were permanently suspended from accessing the game.

Tencent claims that these players were making use of Speed Cheats (12 percent), Auto-Aim Cheats (27 percent), using X-Ray Vision (32 percent) and using other forms of cheating (22 percent). Four percent accounts were banned for modification of area damage while three percent were suspended for modification of character model.
This ban also comes at a time when the PUBG Mobile 1.0 update was set to arrive on September 8 on both Android and iOS. The update would have brought the Erangel 2.0 classic map along with a major overhaul the overall graphics of the classic map as well as design and aesthetic changes. The update also would have brought an Ultra-HD graphics mode.
