The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 concluded on June 3, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While fans celebrated RCB's long-awaited title win after 17 years, many also felt bad for PBKS, who remain without a trophy even in their 18th season.

Despite the outcome, fans widely praised Shreyas Iyer for his outstanding leadership. In his debut season as captain of Punjab Kings, Iyer guided the team to their first playoff appearance in 11 years and helped them finish at the top of the table.

After the batter's remarkable run in IPL 2025, his sister, Shresta Iyer, took to social media to express her love and admiration for him. Although PBKS narrowly missed out on the title, falling short by just 6 runs, Shresta emphasized that the journey meant more than the result.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Shresta lauded Shreyas not only for his on-field performance but also for his evolution as a leader throughout the season. She described him as an "incredible human" and commended his unwavering dedication and passion for the game.

"To our Sarpanch, You are truly an extraordinary person with incredible talent! No matter how much we say about you, it will never be enough. You've proven yourself time and again, and I'm genuinely proud of everything you¨ve achieved ! it's a huge accomplishment.

Shresta praises PBKS' inspiring season

The team reached the IPL final for the first time in over a decade and Shresta extended her praise to the entire squad, highlighting how each member had stepped up to deliver unforgettable performances.

"To Sadda Punjab, what a journey it's been! I'm beyond proud of every single one of you. You've all stepped up and proven yourselves time after time. This is just the beginning!there's so much greatness ahead for each of you. I can't wait for next season already. You've won countless hearts, and that's what makes you true winners. Interestingly, less than 48 hours after the IPL 2025 final, Shreyas Iyer was back on the field!this time representing the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League. On Thursday, June 5, he played in their second match against the North Mumbai Panthers. Notably, Iyer wasn't leading the side and played under 21-year-old captain Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
